The National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) today announced that Erica Ayala, Sherry Ross and Kelly Schultz have been selected as the broadcasters for NWHL All-Star Weekend in Nashville on Feb. 9-10.
Ayala is the commentator for the Connecticut Whale and sideline reporter for select games of the Metropolitan Riveters. Ross is the commentator for the Riveters, while Schultz is the play-by-play announcer for the Minnesota Whitecaps.
“Erica, Sherry and Kelly are among the best announcers in hockey, and they are very deserving of the opportunity to serve as the broadcast team for All-Star Weekend in Nashville,” said NWHL Commissioner Dani Rylan.
The 2019 NWHL All-Star Game is on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Bridgestone Arena at approximately 2:30 p.m. CT/3:30 ET, after the Predators host the St. Louis Blues at 11:30 a.m. CT. The NWHL All-Star Skills Challenge is at 5 CT/6 ET at Ford Ice Center.
Both events will be streamed live on Twitter. Last year’s All-Star Game in Minnesota drew more than 570,000 viewers.
“It is such an honor to represent the NWHL in the broadcast booth and on this huge stage at All-Star Weekend in Nashville,” said Schultz. “I can't wait to work again with Erica Ayala, who is so knowledgeable when it comes to all things NWHL. It has been a dream of mine to call a game with the incomparable Sherry Ross. We cannot wait to bring all of the action and fun to the fans.”
